Privacy Policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
In short: the Swipeek app does not collect, transmit or store any personal data. It has no servers and makes no network requests. This website is separate: it uses Google Analytics to count visits, and only after you agree to it.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers two different things, and the difference matters. The app is Swipeek for iOS and Android. This website is swipeek.app. Where the two behave differently, it is said explicitly below. Both are operated by [LEGAL ENTITY].
2. Data the app collects: none
Swipeek does not collect personal data. Specifically, the app has no accounts and no sign-in, does not read or generate advertising identifiers, contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, does not request your location or contacts, and does not build a profile of you. There is nothing to opt out of, because nothing is gathered.
3. Your photos and videos
The app asks the system for access to your photo library so it can show you your photos and, on your instruction, delete them. Images and videos are read on the device to display them and to compare them with each other. They are never copied off the device, never uploaded and never shared with anyone.
Duplicate and similar-photo detection is performed entirely on your phone. No image, thumbnail, or derived fingerprint is transmitted anywhere.
4. What the app stores on your device
To remember your progress between sessions, the app keeps a local database on the device containing: your keep or bin decision for each photo you have reviewed, per-month progress counters, your settings, simple usage statistics such as a daily streak, and perceptual hashes used to group similar photos. This data never leaves the device and is removed when you uninstall the app. You can also clear it at any time from Settings.
5. Permissions
The app requires access to your photo library; without it, it cannot function. Limited photo access, where you grant access to selected photos only, is supported — the app will work with whatever subset you allow. You can change or revoke this access at any time in your device settings.
6. Third parties in the app
There are none. The app integrates no advertising networks, no analytics providers, no cloud storage and no social logins. The app stores you downloaded it from — Apple, Google or RuStore — collect their own installation and usage statistics under their own policies, which we do not control and do not receive personal data from.
7. This website and Google Analytics
The app contains no analytics. This website does. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they read and whether they go on to an app store.
Google Analytics may record: the pages you view, the site or search engine that referred you, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device type, screen size, browser and language, and interactions such as clicking a store button, opening an FAQ entry or scrolling through the page. It stores cookies in your browser for this purpose. Google acts as a separate controller for this data; see the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Analytics runs only after you accept it in the cookie banner. Before you decide, Google Consent Mode keeps analytics storage denied, so no analytics cookies are set. Our legal basis in the EU, the EEA and the UK is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, which reopens the banner.
Advertising and personalisation signals are switched off permanently: there is no advertising on this site and we do not request those permissions.
8. Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs of requests to the site, including IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp. They are used to keep the site available and to investigate abuse, and are retained for [RETENTION PERIOD] before deletion.
9. Children
Swipeek is not directed at children under 13. Since the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
10. Your rights
Because the app collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or erase on your behalf. Data held locally on your device is under your control: reset your review progress in Settings, or uninstall the app to remove all of it.
For website analytics, you may withdraw consent at any time, and where local law grants you rights of access, erasure, objection or portability regarding that data, you can exercise them by writing to us or to Google.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes to how the app or the site handles data will be described here rather than made quietly.
12. Contact
Write to [email protected]. The controller for this data is [LEGAL ENTITY], [ADDRESS], [JURISDICTION].
